Many of you know Statesboro Herald photographer Michelle Boaen. She has shot photos of just about every event in Bulloch County. One of her primary duties during football season is to shoot Friday night high school football. She stands on the sidelines clicking away for the best shot.

Michelle is a petite young woman and she's pretty good about dodging large football players in full pads barreling near her. That is until this past Friday night.

She was assigned to the Portal game. After she had shot some still images, she began shooting some video as part of our new multimedia effort. Not 10 seconds after she started shooting ... well, you can see for yourself. Click on the video on this story.

Michelle got lots of help from the players and coaches in getting to her feet after taking quite a hit. Michelle is OK. She has a few bumps and bruises, but she got up and kept shooting. That's dedication.
