Statesboro Police investigators remain close-lipped regarding the alleged murder of a Sylvania man early Sunday morning at a local motel.
Romero Rodriques Robbins, 33, Gin House Road, Sylvania, died Sunday morning at East Georgia Regional Medical Center,  after having been transported by Bulloch County EMS to the hospital, according to preliminary incident reports by Statesboro Police Advanced Patrol Officer Craig Coleman.
In reports, he said witnesses residing at the Deluxe Inn on North Main Street saw a man outside room 116 who had apparently been shot.
Statesboro Police officers responded to a Bulloch County Central 911 call around 4 a.m. about a man at the motel who "received a gunshot wound," reports stated. Officers found Robbins in front of the room and determined he had indeed been shot.
Reports did not state where Robbins had been shot or how many times he was shot, and Statesboro Police Det. Sgt. James Winskey declined to reveal the information Tuesday, citing his reason was because the case remains under investigation.
The case was turned over to the Statesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department at 764-9911 or the criminal Investigations Division at 764-1542. All calls will remain confidential, Winskey said.
