About two thousand people enjoyed games, food and fireworks at Friday night's annual Swing Into Spring event - the official kickoff of the Statesboro-Bulloch County Recreation Department youth baseball and softball season.

The highlight of the festival on a comfortable and clear Spring evening was the parade of dozens of teams from all age groups. The teams entered through a huge inflated blue canopy, through a cloud of smoke to the cheers of family and friends.

Children enjoyed games and jumping on inflatable mazes and slides, prior to the parade and played with Kidsville's Truman the Dragon.

After the parade, a 15-minute fireworks show sent the crowd home happy.
