Street names in Inglewood subdivision to change
Public input sought this evening at Statesboro High School

Residents in the Inglewood subdivision will soon be looking at some new street names as the Bulloch County 911 Administration office seeks to avoid continuing confusion.
“We’re in the process of renaming streets and renumbering houses in the Inglewood subdivision off Lester Road, specifically Valley Road, Trail and Court,” said Dennis Merrifield, Statesboro Fire Chief.
The name change comes as a result of an event that took place about 18 months ago. Because there are similar address numbers on Valley Trail, Valley Road, Valley Way, Valley Circle  and Valley Court, an ambulance had difficulty finding the specific address to which it needed to respond.
According to the chief, residents have had problems for years with mail, packages and even pizza deliveries being sent to the wrong house.
“It just gets confusing in there,” Merrifield said.
Merrifield said they are seeking input from the affected homeowners and residents in the community.
“We’re going to lay out what we’re proposing to do and get input from the citizens,” Merrifield said. “We want to give them a chance to ask questions.”
The meeting will be held this evening, at 6:30, in the cafeteria of Statesboro High School. Representatives from Bulloch County Safety, the 911 Administration office, Statesboro Fire and Police departments as well as the postal service will be in attendance.
