Twin brothers were arrested Thursday on outstanding warrants after appearing in traffic court.
Keandre Malik Westbrook, 22, of Bird Lane, was wanted for involvement in a domestic violence incident that occurred Sunday, said Statesboro Police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren.
His court date for previous traffic offenses was supposed to be Tuesday, but he had the date postponed until Thursday.
Statesboro police officers, knowing he was scheduled for court, were waiting when he appeared, arresting him on the outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, battery, and obstruction, she said.
Police said he had been in a physical altercation Sunday with a woman and caused her injury when he used his forearm to choke her.
He fled before officers arrived, she said.
His twin brother, Keante Marquisse Westbrook, 22, also of Bird Lane, drove him to traffic court, and officers learned he was wanted for an outstanding bench warrant, she said. Keante Westbrook also was arrested.
Both men were taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where they await further court hearings.
