A 23-year-old Statesboro man is in jail after a violent beating early Sunday morning left a male victim with multiple broken bones and contusions, according to a news release issued Monday by the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
Erick Quiterio, of U.S. 301 South, was charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment and criminal trespass. Quiterio turned himself in to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office later Sunday morning.
At around 7 a.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to East Georgia Regional Medical Center regarding a male who had been severely beaten.
Upon arrival, Senior Deputy Jeff Thompson met with medical staff and the 23-year-old victim, who suffered a broken jaw and chin as well as multiple contusions.
The victim told deputies that he had been beaten by another male at a residence in the 100 block of Bird Road.
Cpl. Greg Collins and Sgt. Rey Rodriguez responded to the Bird Road location and discovered large amounts of blood inside the mobile home. They also spoke with a female witness who indicated that Quiterio, her former boyfriend, had arrived at the home around 5 a.m. and beaten the victim, who was staying with her.
Quiterio remains at the Bulloch County Jail without bond pending further judicial proceedings.
