A Statesboro man faces sex offense charges after bringing a Savannah teen to Bulloch County, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
Michael Joseph Stewart, 19, Camellia Drive East, is charged with child molestation, statutory rape, enticing a child for indecent purposes and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, he said.
Stewart was previously acquainted with the victim, a 13-year-old girl from Chatham County, Anderson said.   The girl called Stewart recently and asked him to come pick her up.
He did so, and brought the teen to a Bulloch County location, where he and the girl had consensual sexual intercourse, he said.
The girl went back home at some point, and when her guardian discovered what happened, the guardian came to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Department to report the incident, he said.
Due to the age difference and the fact Stewart is an adult, he was charged with the sex offenses, he said.
Stewart was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he remains without bond, according to jail records.
