South Georgia Center for Cancer Care hosts free Cancer Survivor Day celebration
Statesboro community invited to attend annual event celebrating survivorship, life

South Georgia Center for Cancer Care will host its free Cancer Survivor Day celebration on Friday from 4:30-8 p.m. at The Hall by 40 East Grill on 19B S. Vine St.

All cancer survivors, family, friends and caregivers, as well as Statesboro residents and visitors, are invited to attend the annual event.

"Survivor Day is a celebration of life in our community," said Dr. Marc Apple, board-certified radiation oncologist at the Center for Cancer Care. "It is a day of encouragement and camaraderie for cancer survivors, family, friends and caregivers. Together, we are fighting and beating cancer, providing inspiration to others battling the disease. SGCCC is proud to deliver community-based, high quality care to the Statesboro community, giving cancer patients hope for a better quality of life and successful clinical outcomes."

The Survivor Day event will feature food, drinks and live music. Jared Wade, Georgia Music Awards Country Male 2013 Vocalist of the Year, is scheduled to perform.
