Sonny, a blue-eyed husky mix found last week with a chain collar embedded in his neck, received lots of visitors Saturday outside Anderson's General Store in Statesboro. The Bulloch Humane Society had Sonny and several other dogs and cats at Anderson's to meet the public and raise money for their efforts to help animals in the county. Lewis Brown, a volunteer with the Humane Society, said Sonny is recovering well from the surgery to remove the chain. Brown said another surgery will be necessary after the original wound drains and heals a little more. For more information about Sonny and the Bulloch Humane Society, call (912) 690-1769.
