Statesboro police arrested a man who they say fled store loss prevention agents Monday after shoplifting at Walmart. According to incident reports, the man later identified as Edward James Strickland, 38, Church Street, abandoned his car after breaking several traffic laws as he continued to flee from police. Strickland reportedly entered the store, concealed items and attempted to leave without paying for the merchandise.
