Thousands are expected in Metter this weekend as people pay  tribute to Dr. Michael Guido, known worldwide for his “Seeds from the sower” ministry, who passed away Feb. 21 at age 94.
Visitation/viewing will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hamstra Worship Center, located across the street from the Guido Gardens Evangelical Association office, which is located on Highway 121 in Metter.
Visitors may turn in at the office and the Hamstra Worship Center will be on their right.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m., with a tent set up in Guido Gardens, which was one of Guido’s favorite places and where he filmed many of his television spots. The gardens are also the site of the ministry’s annual “Nights of Lights” held in December.
While organizers are unable to determine the exact number of visitors expected, there will be seating available  to accommodate the usual number of visitors to events held at the Gardens, and if an overflow of visitors occurs, there will be seating available in the Hamstra Worship Center where the services will be shown live on a large screen.
The memorial service will be live streamed to numerous sites and will be viewed worldwide by those who will be unable to attend the services. The Statesboro Herald will offer live coverage of the services at Web site www.statesboroherald.com.
