Screven, Sylvania investigating two armed robberies

    Sylvania Police and Screven County Sheriff's officials are investigating two recent armed robberies, according to Sylvania Police Lt. Tony Taylor. He and Screven County Sheriff's Cpl. Brett Dickerson are seeking information regarding an armed robbery Sunday at Rusty's One-Stop, where a masked gunman entered the store around 11 p.m. with a shotgun and took about $700. They are also investigating a similar armed robbery Monday, when a masked man entered Browers' Convenience Store around 9 p.m. , using a shotgun, and took about $800, Taylor said. No one was injured during either robbery. Anyone with information on either robbery is asked to contact Taylor at (912) 564-2555 or Dickerson at (912) 564-2013.
