Two Statesboro businesses have teamed up to hold an event that will benefit a therapeutic riding program for children.

The event, called "Giddy Up & Give," takes place Saturday starting at noon. There will be activities for all ages such as pony rides, balloon animals, food and music.
Van Gogh's Microbrewery and Gourmet Pizza, 125 GATA Drive, will host the family-friendly events during the day.

In the evening, GATA's Sports Bar and Grill, 120 Lanier Drive, will host a live music event featuring local music acts such as Tall Paul Phillips, Greg Kearney and Byron Hatcher.

Items or gift cards of any values can be donated during the silent auction. Different levels of sponsorships for child riders of therapeutic horses are available.

All proceeds will benefit Stirrup Some Fun, an organization that uses horses as therapy for children with disabilities such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy and cancer. The organization is run by the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department.
