A local restaurant owner was arrested Thursday on a warrant from the United States Department of Driver Services.

Statesboro police assisted in the arrest of Seni Alabi-Isama, 40, of Old Carriage Trail, on charges of making false statements and writings.

Statesboro police Chief Mike Broadhead said the DDS warrant was issued because Alabi-Isama allegedly submitted paperwork on which he claimed to be a United States citizen, but the DDS stated he was not.

Alabi-Isama owns The Smoque Pit on South Main Street.

Alabi-Isama is being held without bond in the Bulloch County Jail, pending further investigation, according to jail records.
