A man on probation was arrested after he and his probation officer got into a struggle that injured both, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
The director of the Bulloch County Probation Department contacted the sheriff's office on Jan. 23 regarding an altercation that occurred in the probation office on Hill Street, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Friday.
Probation Officer Tim Miller had tried to arrest one of his probationers, Dominique White, 21, of Johnson Street, for probation violations of his probation, Anderson said.
At that point, White tried to flee on foot with Miller in pursuit. White struggled with Miller inside the probation office, and the two fell down a flight of stairs. Both men were injured and taken to East Georgia Regional Medical Center for treatment, the sheriff said.
After White recovered, he was booked into the Bulloch County Jail on Thursday on a single count of felony obstruction of an officer.
