Portal man charged in accident
Motorcycle strikes car, causing minor injuries
GSP accident

A Portal man was taken to jail Tuesday afternoon, charged in a crash between his motorcycle and a passenger car.

Georgia State Patrol Post 45 Trooper Kane Smith said Jacob Harville, 25, Anderson Parrish Road, Portal, is charged with DUI, suspended license, and no motorcycle license.

Around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Harville was stopped at the intersection of Lovett Road and Northside Drive East, riding a 2001Kawasaki motorcycle. He failed to yield after stopping and pulled into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Bailey McGhee, 20, Alderly Road, Warner Robins. The two vehicles collided, Smith said.

McGhee was reportedly not injured, while Harville suffered minor injuries. He refused treatment, however, denying transportation to the hospital by EMS, but Smith ended up transporting Harville to East Georgia Regional Medical Center himself, before taking Harville to the Bulloch County Jail.

Harville was booked in on the charges and remained in jail Tuesday afternoon, awaiting bond.

McGhee was not charged.
