Police seeking info on armed robbery incidents
Crime-scene-tape

An armed robbery early Saturday morning followed two earlier armed robbery incidents that have police seeking answers.
Two men robbed a victim at gunpoint behind the Subway on Chandler Road in the wee hours of the morning, according to a Georgia Southern University “Eagle Alert.” A black man, who was wielding a hand gun, wore a red shirt and red shorts and had dreadlocks. There was no further description of his accomplice except he is a white man also with dreadlocks, according to reports.
This armed robbery follows two earlier reports of victims being robbed at gunpoint by a group of offenders.
A man at Cambridge at Southern told officers earlier this week that a group of men, with at least one holding a gun, robbed him of a book bag, wallet and clothing.
Another man said he and several other victims were confronted Thursday at The Cove at Southern by a group of offenders. One man with a gun demanded the victim’s possessions, but all the offenders fled after one of the victims escaped in a car.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents. It is unclear whether the robberies are linked.
Statesboro Police Capt. Scott Brunson said anyone with information in either of these incidents should contact the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.
Holli Deal Bragg may be reached at (912) 489-9414.
