A man said another man struck him for no reason while he was sitting on a four-wheeler.

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ MAG DAVIS ROAD — A man believed his work tools were in a woman’s car trunk, but she showed him they were not there. He told deputies he thought the tools were stolen since she was the last one to have them.

▲ SUMMERSIDE ROAD — A woman sad a man hit her in the back with a wrench during an argument. She said a woman also struck her. The other woman said the complainant wounded her back when she fell and the man did not throw a wrench at her.

▲ SINKHOLE ROAD/LUCKY FOOD MART — A man said another man struck him for no reason while he was sitting on a four-wheeler. He did not want to press charges.

▲ CLEARY ROAD — A man was arrested on family violence battery charges.

▲ ORABELL ROAD — A woman said her husband struck her and shoved her head under water in a bathtub because he saw her whisper something into a friend’s ear.


➤ Statesboro Police Department 

▲ EAST MAIN STREET — Officers responded to a reported simple battery incident and gave each party involved advice on taking warrants.

▲ THE GEORGE APARTMENTS — A woman reported someone stole her car keys.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — Parties involved in a domestic dispute were given information on the warrant process and remedies to their issues.

In a separate call at a different location, a man was arrested on public intoxication charges. He fought arrest and had to be forcibly placed in the patrol car to be taken to jail. He was also charged with obstruction.

In yet a third unrelated call, a person was arrested for criminal damage to property.

A fourth call involved a pit bull dog that was suspected to be stolen.

A fifth call dealt with a man who said his girlfriend broke his iPad and threw his keys into a lake.

▲ McKINNON STREET — A man said his ex-girlfriend came to his home, causing problems and refused to leave. She did leave before police arrived, however, and they could not locate her.

▲ LORETHA STREET — An unwanted person was charged with criminal trespass as well as driving with a suspended license. The person was arrested and taken to jail.

▲ JOHNSON STREET — A woman reported the theft of two cellphones.

▲ GEORGIA AVENUE — A person on whom police performed a welfare check at someone else’s request was charged with DUI (refused test) and taken to jail.

▲ WEST GRADY STREET EXTENSION — Police stopped a person for questioning who matched the description of a suspect in another case. Although it was determined the person stopped was not the suspect sought, the individual being questioned gave a false name and was found to have in his possession some MDMA (Ecstasy). He was arrested.

▲ BUCKHAVEN DRIVE — A woman called police to report a man was at her home who was not supposed to be there. He was arrested on criminal trespass charges.

▲ FAIR ROAD — A woman found a man in the street who was apparently a victim of battery. She took him to the hospital and someone called police. No further details were available.


➤ Georgia State Patrol Post 45

▲ Last week, troopers investigated nine accidents with eight reported injuries and arrested four drivers on DUI charges. Troopers also issued 16 citations and four warnings for seat belt violations, one citation and one warning for child restraint violations, and 18 citations and 16 warnings for speeding.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Officers issued one traffic citation and two traffic warnings and assisted three motorists.

▲ SOUTHERN PINES — Someone reported the theft of a bicycle.

▲ SHOOTING SPORTS COMPLEX — Officers investigated reports of a suspicious person.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — On two separate occasions, officers assisted Statesboro police on an unspecified call.

▲ SOUTH MAIN STREET — Statesboro police requested GSU officers’ assistance with two separate unspecified calls.

▲ FAIR ROAD — Officers assisted Statesboro police with an unspecified call.
