It’s been a streaky season for the Southeast Bulloch softball team and head coach Matthew Meeks. The Jackets are currently 8-8, which includes a pair of four-game win streaks, along with three- and five-game losing streaks. Meeks is hoping to gain some momentum heading into the back end of their region schedule and is counting on players like junior infielder and pitcher Blakely Graham to help get it done.

"Blakely is currently batting .378 and her role on the team is to hit in the top of the lineup and play infield and pitch,” Meeks said. “She’s a great team player and has improved her infield play and quality at bats throughout the duration of the season.”

“As an upperclassman, I’m trying to lead by example and be someone my teammates can look up to,” Graham said. “I’ve learned a lot from the seniors who came before me, and I want to take what they taught me and pass it down to the younger girls.

“I feel like our team is doing really well because we do a great job of picking each other up and always having each other’s backs. One of our biggest strengths is our consistency with our at bats because instead of putting ourselves first we put the team first when we are at the plate
