Incidents
    CEDARWOOD GNETS PROGRAM — Police responded around 9 a.m. Friday after a student at the alternative school struck a teacher, threatened staff with bodily harm and then threatened harm to himself. After contacting the Department of Juvenile Justice, the student was arrested, turned over to his mother, and referred to a hospital for treatment and evaluation.
    CHRISTIE LANE — A woman reported a suspicious man around 3:15 p.m. Thursday. She said he claimed to be with a local company and asked to come inside her home. The woman denied his request and called police.
    STILES INN — A man called police around 2 p.m. Friday to complain that a guest left without paying for a week’s motel room rent.
    WEST GRADY STREET — Someone reported damage to the grass at the Rev. W.D. Kent Park around 2:15 p.m. Friday. Someone spun tires on the grass.
    COOK OUT — A man was arrested around 3 a.m. Saturday for involvement in a domestic disturbance. He was charged with simple battery.
    WAL-MART SUPERCENTER — A couple of men shoplifted a case of Michelob beer, a case of Pepsi, a case of Dr. Pepper and a case of Bud Light beer. They were not caught as they walked out of the store without paying around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
    Around 3 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested for shoplifting clothing and cellphone accessories.
    CAMBRIDGE AT SOUTHERN APARTMENTS — A woman reported around 4:30 p.m. Friday that her boyfriend struck and threw her down several times during an argument earlier that day.
