In working with agents from other agencies to solve a drug case, Statesboro Police arrested a man who was also wanted on rape charges. Last week, the Statesboro Police Crime Suppression Unit worked with Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents and the Savannah Regional Drug Enforcement Office regarding information on drug activity in Statesboro, said Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner. As a result of the investigation, officers stopped a car on Chandler Road, and the passenger fled on foot.
