Operation Kidsafe opens Statesboro center

The public is invited to the grand opening of the Operation Kidsafe Year-Round Safety Center in Statesboro.

Refreshments will be served at the new location at Dan York’s Allstate Insurance office on Tillman Road in Statesboro at 10 a.m. Friday.

The community service offers a private and safe way to help keep children safe. “Operation Kidsafe is free and private for families,” York said in a released statement. “Parents take home the only record of the visit — a bio-document — that is ready to hand to law enforcement in an emergency.”

Parents are also offered safety tips to start a family safety action plan.

Operation Kidsafe was founded by Mark Bott, an internationally known child safety advocate who worked with John Walsh of “America’s Most Wanted” and helped start the Amber alert.

The program is free for every family. No special information is needed, as there is no databasing.

This service will be available to the public at the office at 107 Tillman Road each weekday.

York will also be offering this potentially life-saving and educational service and system at area events.

To request the Operation Kidsafe Digital Safety System at your event or gathering, contact York at (912) 764-6500 or by email at danyork@allstate.com.
