Statesboro Police are looking for a man they said snatched a handful of cash from KFC Sunday.
Around 6:10 p.m., Advanced Patrol Officer Marcus Hartwell responded to a call to the restaurant at North Main and East Olliff Streets to investigate a call about a robbery by sudden snatch, said Statesboro Police Capt. L.C. Williams, Criminal Investigations Division commander.
Det. Tommy Brown also arrived at  the scene, where an employee told them a man jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
Witnesses described the offender as being a black male, medium height and weight, wearing dark jeans, a gray hooded sweat jacket and white tennis shoes.
He left the restaurant and fled west across North Main  towards Farmers and Merchants Bank, Williams said.
Detectives are continuing an investigation into the robbery and ask anyone with information regarding the incident to please contact the Statesboro Police Criminal Investigation Division at 764-1542 or the department’s main line at 764-9911.
“All information received will be confidential,” he said.
