A Portal man was killed Sunday morning in a single vehicle accident on Ga. 67 near Statesboro, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 45 reports.

Harrison Luke Anderson, 19, Ponderosa Road, Portal, was driving north on Ga. 67 shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, when his 2008 Toyota Tacoma left the roadway.

Anderson's truck traveled onto the east shoulder of the road, rolling 253 feet on the shoulder before returning to the highway, crossing the northbound lanes and into the median. There, the truck traveled another 56 feet before overturning, reports stated.

Anderson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, which continued traveling 157 feet to come to rest in the west ditch. Anderson's body came to rest 119 feet from the truck, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to GSP.

No drugs or alcohol were found and there was no indication of these being factors in the accident, reports said. Initial GSP reports did not list reasons for the accident.
