An argument Saturday at a Metter nightclub led to a man's arrest for waving a gun at another and making threats, police said.
David T. Hunter, 22, of an undisclosed Metter address, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, criminal trespass, and marijuana possession, Metter Police Chief Dennis Nelson said.
No shots were fired and no one was injured, he said.
Metter police arrived at Club 46, at the intersection of Georgia Highway 46 and Metter-Portal Highway, where they arrested Hunter at the scene.
Nelson said Candler County sheriff's deputies assisted Metter police at the scene.
"We are happy to have people like Mr. Hunter off the streets of Metter," he said. "We are also thankful for our continued working relationship with Sheriff (Homer) Bell and the Candler County Sheriff's Office. As typical with calls of this nature, ... deputies were on site to back up our officers."
