Local woman arrested after knife attack
Argument that began at club ends with slashing

A fight between two women that began at a nightclub early New Year’s Day continued at an apartment complex, ending in one slashing the other in the arms, police said.Cierra Shambre Murphy, 18, of Statesboro Place Circle, was charged with aggravated assault after officers responded to The Pointe at Southern apartments around 5 a.m. Tuesday, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said in a news release issued Friday afternoon.Witnesses and the victim, who was later transported to the hospital by friends for treatment of her wounds, told police Murphy was still angry over the altercation, which police said took place at Platinum Lounge, and cut the victim on both arms at the Pointe at Southern.No reasons for the argument were given.Murphy was not at the scene when police arrived, but Detective Tommy Brown located her later and arrested her around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Turner said.Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.
