Bulloch County Public Safety Director Ted Wynn announced Tuesday the promotion of Christopher Ivey to interim Bulloch County fire chief. Ivey will be evaluated after a probationary period and likely be named permanently to the position, Wynn said. Having been a volunteer firefighter with the Portal Fire Department for 12 years and serving as chief, Ivey was hired as captain of the county fire department earlier this year.
