A fatal crash involving an 18-wheeler and another vehicle closed down westbound lanes of Interstate 16 at mile marker 128 in Bulloch County for more than three hours.

The lanes reopened about 10:30 a.m. with traffic backed up for miles. The WTOC report said multiple agencies responded to the scene of the crash and two fatalities were reported. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Myles Nelson Grant, 61 and Joel Davon Grant, 22, Fairway Oaks Drive, Brunswick were killed in the wreck.

Also, due to a controlled burn and early morning fog creating low visibility eastbound lanes were blocked.

Traffic heading to I-16 on Highway 67 in Bulloch County was rerouted onto Highway 46 and then directed back onto I-16 at Ash Branch Church Road - mile marker 132.
