Harveys to close Saturday, reopen Monday as Food World

Harveys Supermarket is about to leave Statesboro for good.

Both Statesboro locations of Harveys Supermarket — 603 Northside Drive W. and 620 Fair Road — will close at 1 p.m. Saturday and reopen at 7 a.m. Monday.

When they reopen, they will have been reset and rebranded as Food World stores.

The Statesboro Harveys were purchased by HAC Inc., an employee-owned regional supermarket chain based in Oklahoma, which will operate the Statesboro stores under the Food World banner.
