Guyton’s public safety director, Kelphie Lundy, is a Bulloch County native who has lived in the county all his life, and hopes to give back to his community by helping grow business and increase youth activities if he is elected to the Bulloch County Commission Seat 2A. The long-time law enforcement officer is joined by candidates Gerald Fleming, Jimmy Hayes and Curt Deal in seeking the seat to be vacated by current commissioner Caroline Etheridge, who did not run for reelection. Lundy worked for over 13 years with the Statesboro Police Department, “at which time I worked my way up through the ranks as a patrol officer, corporal, detective and watch sergeant supervisor,” he said. “I also worked for the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office for one and a half years as a deputy.”
