Guyton man arrested for Statesboro murder
Murder suspect
Jamontea Marquil Pitts

A Guyton man faces charges of murder in the shooting death of a man last week at Park Place Apartments.
Jamontea Marquil Pitts, 24, Guyton, was arrested Tuesday after a "joint investigative effort by the Statesboro Police Department" and several other agencies, said Statesboro Police Deputy Chief Rob Bryan.
Pitts allegedly shot Forrest Kibler, 25, of Statesboro, at a Park Place location around 9:30 p.m. Friday. Police have not disclosed any details surrounding the murder.
Bryan said Pitts was arrested in Chatham County after teamwork between Statesboro police, the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, the Chatham County Counter Narcotics Team, the Savannah Metro Police Department, the Savannah Area Regional Intelligence Center, and the Guyton Police Department.
"The Statesboro Police Department would like to thank all of the agencies that assisted in this investigation," he said.
Pitt remains in the Bulloch County Jail without bond.
The case is still under investigation and further arrests are possible, Bryan said.
Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.
