GOP wins both local commission seats
Stringer, Deal take victories

Republican candidates running for seats 2A and 2C on the Bulloch County Board of Commissioners both won, pulling ahead of their Democratic opponents.

Jappy Stringer took the District 2C Seat, sweeping in 12,982 votes to Gene Anderson’s 4,779 votes, 73.09 percent to 26.91 percent.

“I want to thank all my supporters, and I look forward to being a commissioner for all citizens of Bulloch County,” Stringer said.

Anderson congratulated Stringer on his win Tuesday evening.

“I wish him the best of luck with his win tonight,” he said.

In the race for Seat 2A, Curt Deal overpowered Kelphie Lundy with 12,937 votes to 4,712, 73.30 percent to 26.70 percent.

“I’ll try again next time,” Lundy said when he learned of his loss.

Deal said: “I’m glad this is finally over. I am very humbled by all the support from the city and county, and I look forward to working for the people.”
