Georgia Southern PAC preps for first performance of 2014-2015 season
Sweet Honey in the Rock 9

Georgia Southern University's Performing Arts Center, 847 Plant Drive, will present Sweet Honey in the Rock's 40th Anniversary Tour on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. as its first performance of the 2014-2015 season.

"The PAC staff is incredibly excited about the variety of shows we're offering this year and we know that everyone from all walks of life will be able to find something in our season that speaks to them," said Stacie McDaniel, house manager at the PAC. "We are especially thrilled to open our season with such a dynamic, award-winning group. Sweet Honey in the Rock's soulful vocals range from blues and jazz to gospel, and I have never heard harmonies executed so expertly and beautifully. This is going to be a really special performance."

Since the group's debut in 1974, Sweet Honey in the Rock has sought to educate, entertain and empower audiences through a capella singing, hand percussion, and American Sign Language interpretation. The ensemble draws upon a musical repertoire, which includes traditional and original compositions with both historic and contemporary influences.

Guests may purchase tickets at the PAC Box Office located in the lobby Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. or online at georgisouthern.edu/PAC.
