The 11th season of "Friday Night Live," where a Bulloch County high school football game is streamed live each week on statesboro herald.com, kicks off the 2018 season Friday at Southeast Bulloch High School.

The Yellow Jackets will be led by new coach Barrett Davis when they play host to Screven County. It will be the first of 11 regular-season games streamed on "Friday Night Live" in 2018.

"The start of high school football season seems to get bigger each year, and we're looking forward to our best season yet," said Jim Healy, who begins his sixth season as play-by-play announcer at "FNL." "As always, there's a lot of excitement to start the season. Coach Jeff Kaiser begins his second season at Statesboro, Southeast Bulloch and Bulloch Academy have new coaches and with Portal playing in the most competitive Class A region in Georgia, we’ll be broadcasting a lot of great football this year."

Statesboro Herald sports editor Mike Anthony will offer analysis for all Statesboro High games in the FNL booth.

“It's the start of a new football season,” Anthony said. “How could you not be excited?"

And Statesboro makes its 2018 debut on "Friday Night Live" over the Labor Day weekend when Liberty County comes to Womack Field on Aug. 31. All the Blue Devil home games will be broadcast on Friday Night Live, including key matchups against Effingham County, Wayne County and South Effingham.

FNL returns to Fred Shaver Filed in Brooklet on Sept. 7 for a key region matchup between Southeast Bulloch and Islands. And the Yellow Jackets final regular-season game against Johnson High of Savannah will close the FNL regular season on Nov. 2.

Bulloch Academy got off to a hot start with a win last Saturday in the Erk Russell Classic and they will appear twice on Friday Night Live in 2018. First BA will welcome Augusta Prep Day to Gator Alley on Sept. 21 and then Pinewood Christian on Oct. 12.

Portal comes to Friday Night Live on Oct. 19 when Calvary Day visits the Portal Athletic Complex.

In addition to watching the games on a PC, laptop or tablet, games are available to stream live on your big-screen television if it can be connected to the internet.

Statesboroherald.com was one of the pioneers in Georgia for broadcasting a live high school football game every week online, starting "Friday Night Live" in 2008.

"Our producer Matt Bankhead continues to improve the broadcast every year, and the picture will be sharper than ever before on whatever device you watch the game," Healy said. "We have invested in a high quality new video camera that will make your game-watching experience even more enjoyable."

"Friday Night Live" is on the air on statesboroherald.com at 7:20 p.m. Fridays, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
