After receiving citizen complaints, Statesboro Police held an undercover sting resulting in four women being arrested Friday on prostitution charges.

The citizen's complaint was that women were soliciting sexual favors around the South Main Street area, said Statesboro Police Capt. Scott P. Brunson, who headed up the operation along with Bulloch County Drug Suppression Team Inv. Kent Munsey.

Both agencies worked in conjunction to conduct the sting. Undercover agents met with suspects and confirmed through evidence that they were conducting business in the form of prostitution, he said.

Officers arrested Crystal Watson, 25, Chapel Road, who is charged with two counts of prostitution and two counts of reckless conduct, he said.

Also, Teresa White-Gibson, 33, Miller Street Extension, was charged with two counts of prostitution; April Washington, 34, Vista Circle, was charged with two counts of prostituion and one count of superior court probation violation; Alicia Kitchens, 43, Pretoria Rushing Road, was charged with two counts of prostitution, Brunson said.

The investigation is ongoing, he said.

"We thank the citizens for cooperation and for helping deter this type of criminal activity," he said.

Anyone with information about any crime can call the Statesboro Police Department at 912-764-9911. Calls remain confidential, Brunson said.
