An Evans County man was killed Tuesday afternoon in an accident that occurred in his driveway. Jefferson H. Simmons, 49, Adabell Fork Road, Claxton, was driving on private property around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when, for unknown reasons, his truck left the lane. The vehicle struck a pine tree, traveled 29 feet and struck another tree, said Georgia State Patrol Sr. Trooper T. Strickland.
