Statesboro Police Arrests

            Arrests made Friday and Saturday will be published Monday.

Bulloch Sheriff’s Arrests

            Westley Blake Benson, 18, Eagle Village — theft by shoplifting, underage possession of alcohol.

            Roberto Jiminez, 27, Dry Branch Village — state court probation violation,speeding, fleeing/attempt to elude, obstruction, open container, reckless driving. 

            Samuel Drayton Lingle, 18, Arcola Road, Brooklet — state court probation violation.

            Maurice Washington, 31, Reynold Street, Brunswick — headlights violation, driving with a suspended license, marijuana possession.

            Samuel Joseph Nevil, 48, Sagebrush Apartments — public intoxication.

Georgia State Patrol Arrests

Georgia Southern University Arrests

            Arrests made over the weekend will be published Tuesday.

            Incidents occurring  Friday and Saturday will be published Monday.     

Bulloch Sheriff’s Incidents

            WOODYARD LANE  (Brooklet) A man told deputies assaulted him.

            MOBLEY DRIVE — (Statesboro) A man told deputies another man grabbed him by the throat, then left when a woman called 911. The offender was arrested on battery charges.

            WINDING WAY  — (Statesboro) A man reported damage to rental property.

            BELL ROAD — (Brooklet) A juvenile told deputies she and her older sister argued and  the older girl bit her on the leg. The offender told deputies the juvenile threw a jar and struck her in the face. Both were arrested n simple battery charges.

            G. W. OLIVER ROAD — (Statesboro) A man said he argued with his wife after someone called the phone and asked about her. He said she took his cell phone and sat on it, refusing to give it to him. Deputies escorted her from the home to where she caught a ride to Savannah.

Animal Shelter Reports

            The Statesboro-Bulloch County Animal Shelter reported the following activity for the week of Nov. 19-25:

            Animals received:

            • Rural county areas, Bulloch Humane Enforcement — 11 dogs.

            • Statesboro city limits, Bulloch Humane Enforcement — two dogs.

            • Surrendered by citizens — five dogs and one cat.

            • Number in litters surrendered — three puppies and five kittens.

            Animals out:

            • Shelter adoptions — three dogs and one cat.

            • Humane Society adoptions — five dogs.

            • Returned to owners — three dogs.

            • Euthanized — 12 dogs and nine cats, three dogs and one cat from adoption floor.

            Humane Enforcement calls:

            • Cow complaints — five.

            • Snake complaints — two.

            • Donkey complaints — one.

            • Alligator complaints — one.

            • Court summons/citations — seven.

            • Warnings — 10.

            Money collected:

            • Adoption fees — $140.

            • Surrender fees — $50.

            • Returned animal fines — $75.

            • Donations — $17.

            • Miscellaneous — $23.
