A man arrested Tuesday after a three-county motorcycle chase was riding a bike stolen from North Dakota, police said.

Jim Craig Wilkerson, 23, Portal, refused to stop Tuesday afternoon when Metter police tried to pull him over for speeding and lack of registration for the motorcycle, said Metter Police Capt. Robert Shore.

Carrying an unidentified female passenger, Wilkerson fled into Tattnall and then Toombs counties before crashing on a curve, he said.

Wilkerson was taken to the Candler County Jail, booked on charges by Metter police of felony fleeing/attempt to elude; theft by receiving stolen property ( the motorcycle, stolen in North Dakota); speeding, reckless driving, no driver’s license, no insurance and no registration, Shore said.

No one was injured in the chase, with the exception of Wilkerson suffering minor abrasions, be said.
