Bulloch County Sheriff's Office investigators are seeking a man they said robbed a U.S. Highway 80 East convenience store at gunpoint.

Shortly before midnight Saturday, deputies were dispatched to PoJo's No. 2, where witnesses said a "black male suspect entered the business armed with a firearm, confronted the clerk, and robbed the store" of an undisclosed amount of cash, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Monday.

The suspect then fled on foot from the store down Burkhalter Road toward White Oak Subdivision. No one was injured in the robbery, Anderson said.

"An extensive search of the area by patrol and units of the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team failed to locate the suspect," the sheriff said.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches and 175 pounds. He was wearing a light blue shirt with white undershirt, baggy jeans, black-and-gray shoes and a black "fisherman's" style hat with Miami Heat logo, Anderson said.
