Authorities in Bulloch and Candler counties are seeking Javantae Lee, 21, a black male who is wanted in several counties, said Bulloch County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jared Akins.

In addition to being sought for questioning regarding local incidents and outstanding warrants, Lee is also a possible suspect in several "shots fired" incidents in Metter, said Metter Police Chief Mack Seckinger.

Candler County sheriff's deputies gave chase to a back Charger on Thursday afternoon after Bulloch County sheriff's investigators tipped them off that Lee may be in the car.

The high-speed chase led into Bulloch County via the Portal-Metter Highway, but those in pursuit lost sight of the 2008 black Dodge Charger. The car was later recovered outside of Statesboro in the Westchester subdivision, Akins said. The car is owned by Franchonda A. Polk from the Statesboro area.

Anyone with information about Lee or Polk is asked to contact one of the following: Candler County Sheriff's Investigator Melvin Ivey or Investigator Justin Wells at (912) 685-2568, Metter Police Investigator Tim Platt at (912) 685-2291 or Bulloch County Sheriff's Investigator Jason Long at (912) 764-8888.
