Brooklet’s ‘Hot Dog Town Hall’ 6:30 p.m. Thursday
Brooket's 'Hot Dog Town Hall'

Brooklet’s Hot Dog Social and Town Hall Meeting, sponsored by the Brooklet Community Development Association, or BCDA, and hosted by Mayor Nicky Gwinnett, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27 at the Randy Newman Community Center, 209 Railroad St., Brooklet.

That’s when the hot dogs will first be made available to everyone who wants to partake. Then the town hall program is scheduled at 7:15 with a welcome from Ellen Perkins of the BCDA, followed by an invocation by Pastor Patrick McElveen of Brooklet First Baptist Church, the flag presentation by the Blue Knights of Georgia and the Pledge of Allegiance. Then Perkins is slated to introduce Mayor Gwinnett, who will speak before they open the floor to questions from the community.

With the slogan, “Let’s Celebrate Together!” the event is billed as an opportunity to “meet community leaders,” “share your ideas” and “learn what’s new” in Brooklet. It had been announced for an earlier date but was postponed and rescheduled.
