Bulloch County sheriff's investigators surrounded a house Friday at Bridgewater subdivision as they sought to arrest a wanted person. Michael Eugene Powell, 41, of U.S. Highway 80 East in Brooklet, was known to have fled from law enforcement in the past, so investigators arrived at the construction site in unmarked vehicles and "quickly surrounded the house where Powell was working on the roof," Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Wednesday. Powell, wanted on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation, was taken to the Bulloch county Jail.
