The Board of Bethany Assisted Living, Inc. announces the groundbreaking and construction of the Independent Living Cottages at Bethany, an addition to the community of care that is currently offered at The Lodge at Bethany.
Located across from Bethany Way, construction is underway and is scheduled for completion in December 2019. The Cottages will focus on resident engagement and connectivity in a comfortable and secure environment. Using new technology and an innovative approach to maintenance-free living, The Cottages will offer a distinctive experience for a new generation of seniors.
“Bethany has been synonymous with exceptional care for nearly 100 years. The Lodge is the flagship of the Bethany community of care and provides the highest quality of assisted living services, both traditional and memory care,” said Billy Trapnell, former mayor of Metter and past-chair of the Lodge at Bethany Board of Trustees. “We anticipate The Cottages will be an extension of that provision.”
Featuring all of the amenities expected of a Senior Living Community, The Cottages will offer residents full access to the many amenities of, and preferential admission into, the healthcare services provided at The Lodge at Bethany when and if the need arises.
The Cottages will offer eight single-story cottages featuring spacious open floor plans, including a fully-equipped kitchen and laundry with stainless steel appliances, as well as a resident check-in system and camera recordation for increased security, a 320-square-foot enclosed garage, with features including pocket doors, a coffered ceiling in the living area, and windows that bring the outside in.
“This has been the hope and desire of Bethany for almost 100 years,” said Chairman of the
Board of Trustees, Edwin E. Akins. “As we embark on a new direction for Bethany with The
Cottages, we believe it will be an extension of quality and exception care for those who reside with us but in a different format.”
In keeping with the Mission of Bethany that began in 1923, The Lodge at Bethany CEO &
Administrator Becky D. Livingston, says that the vision of the Board has, and will continue to be, to “invite others to engage in a faithful and joyous Community of Care.”
