An investigation by the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team resulted in the arrest of seven area residents on multiple drug trafficking and weapons charges.
According to a post from the Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page, the Crime Suppression Team conducted a months-long investigation, based on citizen complaints and anonymous tips, into narcotics trafficking.
The investigation led to a search warrant being issued for a residence on North Main Street that was executed Monday by, Suppression Team Investigators, Sheriff’s Office K9 deputies and deputies with the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team.
The search yielded a large quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with several firearms. As a result, the following persons were taken into custody:
- Samuel Dixon – Trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, possession of drug related objects, crossing of guard lines with weapons, intoxicants, or drugs without consent of warden or superintendent, possession of firearm by convicted felon and possession of firearm during commission of certain felonies.
- Taylor Dixon – Possession of methamphetamine and possession of firearm during commission of certain felonies.
- Michael Sheffield – Possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects and possession of firearm during commission of certain felonies.
- Lewis Burke – Possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, possession of firearm by convicted felon and possession of firearm during commission of certain felonies.
- Salena Dyches – Possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug related objects, possession of firearm by convicted felon and possession of firearm during commission of certain felonies.
- James Zeigler– Possession of marijuana less than one oz., possession of drug related object and possession of firearm by convicted felon
- Cameron Jones – Possession of methamphetamine and possession of firearm by convicted felon.
Sheriff Noel Brown encouraged citizens to contact the Crime Suppression Team with any complaints of suspected drug activity.
