When Statesboro Police arrested a man for burglary Wednesday, they found evidence leading to armed robbery and aggravated assault as well.
Advanced Patrol Officers Larry Futch  and Jeff Thompson were at a Park Place Apartments residence Wednesday investigating a burglary in which  Willie James Ford, 17, Lanier Drive, was the suspect, said Statesboro Police Chief Stan York.
After finding evidence of the burglary, officers located evidence they felt was involved in another incident and called Det. Tommy Brown to the scene, he said.
Brown investigated further and connected the evidence to a Dec. 11 armed robbery and aggravated assault that took place at another Park Place apartment, he said. Ford was charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery in  that incident, along with the burglary charges.
A woman, Nadia Davina Crawford, 18, of  Baldwin Street, was also charged  with armed robbery and aggravated assault, he said. Police still seek a second woman, Porsha Marie Raines, 19,  no specific address (Statesboro), on the same charges.
Anyone with information regarding the crimes or Raines' whereabouts is asked to call Brown at 764-1542. Calls will remain confidential.
Holli Deal Bragg may be reached at 489-9414.
