More than 500 students, faculty and staff dressed as characters from their favorite books and strutted their stuff during Brooklet Elementary’s annual Pumpkin Parade Friday. Eleven books, including “My Teacher For President,” “ Baa, Baa Black Sheep,” and “ The Emperor and the Kite,” were represented in the lineup.  Members of the second grade class dressed as characters from “The Wizard of Oz.” Dorothy, Toto, the Wicked Witch, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Winged Monkeys were all represented by children and teachers in costume. Fourth graders displayed their kites as they marched in front of family and friends beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. The class read the book “The Emperor and the Kite.”
