Police arrested an 18-year-old man and a juvenile teen in connection to a rash of burglaries last week in the Whispering Pines subdivision.
Between March 15 and March 16, Statesboro police officers responded to five burglaries in the area, where numerous electronic devices were stolen, said Maj. Rob Bryan, interim police chief.
On March 16, Detective Ben Purvis "received a tip that led him to a residence near the burglary locations, where he made contact with several occupants to include an adult female, a juvenile male and an adult male identified as Stefon Wigfall," Bryan said. "Further investigation by Detective Purvis and Detective Kevin Wadley resulted in the recovery of most of the stolen property and the arrest of Stefon Wigfall and the juvenile male."
Family members of the offenders located the remainder of the property and turned it over to Purvis, Bryan said.
Wigfall, 18, of Savanah, is charged with four counts of burglary. The juvenile, 14, also of Savannah, is charged with four counts of burglary as well.
Each was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where they were booked, and juvenile authorities were notified of the 14-year-old's arrest.
