Two men were arrested Wednesday night after a drunken brawl during which one was accidentally stabbed in the neck.
Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Club Road in Clito and found Leewatts Christopher Hunter, 41, R. L. Lee Road, suffering from a stab wound to the neck, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
Hunter and Bobby Busby Jr., 40, also of R. L. Lee Road, had been drinking together and an argument broke out, he said.
Busby “armed himself with a multi-tool, Leatherman tool, and Hunter armed himself with a wooden log,” he said.
During a struggle, the two fell, and the pliers-like tool accidentally penetrated Hunter’s neck, he said. The stabbing “was not intentional.”
Hunter was first taken to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and then transported to the Bulloch County Jail. Busby was taken directly to jail, Anderson said.
Both were charged with affray, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Busby is on hold for parole violation and Hunter was still incarcerated Thursday night awaiting release on a $6,000 bond.
