State and local officers seized nine pounds of marijuana Tuesday along with guns and cocaine when they served a search warrant in Clito.
Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team investigators and state probation officers responded to a U.S. Highway 301 North residence Tuesday regarding a narcotics investigation, Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson. The Crime Suppression Team is a partnership of the sheriff's office and the Statesboro Police Department.
"After arriving at the residence, investigators began searching the residence and located several bags of marijuana," he said. "Master Deputy Kirk McGlamery arrived at the location with his K-9 partner Max to assist with the search."
Max alerted to "approximately nine pounds of high grade marijuana with a street value of approximately $30,000, a quantity of cocaine, a handgun, and U.S. currency totaling approximately $11,000," Anderson said.
Timothy Harris, 29, of Highway 301 North, was charged with cocaine possession, marijuana possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and probation violation.
Lashonda Harris, 31, also of Highway 301 North, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Both were taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where they await court hearings, according to jail records.
