    Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Nan Taylor of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Olivia of Statesboro, to Jason Scott Daughtry, son of Mr. Freddy Daughtry and Ms. Debbie Daughtry of Statesboro.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Doris Elder of Macon, Georgia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cardel and Velma Taylor of Summertown, Georgia. Ashley is a 2002 graduate of Statesboro High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education in 2007 from Georgia Southern University. While attending GSU, she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. In 2008, she received her Master of Education in teaching and learning and in 2011 she received her Education Specialist degree in teaching and learning, both from Georgia Southern University. She is currently employed with the Bulloch County Board of Education as an elementary school teacher at Mattie Lively Elementary School.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.B. and Lois Thompson of Brownsville, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Margaret Daughtry of Statesboro. He graduated from Statesboro High School in 1995 and attended Georgia Southern University. He is currently employed as a financial equipment service provider with Femac Services.
    The couple has planned to wed on July 11, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. at the Garden of the Coastal Plain at Georgia Southern University.
